“Influencer” means someone with a large numbers of fans, readers or followers. It could be a celebrity, a journalist, a podcaster, a blogger or a person with a large number of fans/followers on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.
“Influencer Marketing” means we ask the Influencer to mention illumai, preferably favorably. It could be a product review, a retweet of something we want to publicize, an outright endorsement, a “shoutout” on their social media, a story on their blog, a guest post we write for their blog, a contest/giveaway, or a simple promotion (e.g., “use promocode XXX and get a Travel Pack for half price”).
What makes a good influencer for illumai? Well, we’d want someone who is credible talking about our product and who is not inconsistent with our healthy beauty brand. Danny DeVito has large following, but wouldn’t be particular credible talking about illumai. A blogger who writes about yoga (which is part of healthy living) could be a credible influencer for illumai.
Who do you know? Think about everyone you know well enough to introduce to illumai as a possible influencer. They should be credible in the “healthy living” space, broadly defined — beauty, personal care, fashion, clean food, organic/natural, style, healthy lifestyle, wellness, fitness, etc. Consider:
- celebrities — by definition, most of them have fans and followers who care about what the celebrity thinks
- bloggers (lifestyle)
- Youtube “vloggers” (beauty, healthy living)
- journalists (who cover lifestyle)
- any “thought leader” in healthy living (they are likely to have active social media)
Make the introduction! If you know of an Influencer who might appreciate the illumai story, please introduce him or her to us. We’d love to mail them a free sample and start a dialogue.
